These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the StoryCave app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
The Service is intended to be set up and managed by an adult. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child for whom you create a profile. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
2. The Service
StoryCave provides access to a library of hand-authored children's stories that are personalized using details you supply in each child's profile. We may add, change, or remove stories and features over time.
3. Accounts & profiles
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Parent-only actions — including login, billing, and creating or editing profiles — are gated behind your credentials and are not accessible from a child's reading session. You may create profiles up to the limit of your subscription tier (see below).
4. Subscriptions, free trial & billing
- StoryCave is offered as an auto-renewable subscription in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium tiers, each available monthly or annually. All tiers include the full library and features; tiers differ only in the number of child profiles (3, 5, and 8 respectively).
- Subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account, subject to their terms. We do not process or store your payment card details.
- New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the then-current price.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled. You can manage, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region. Refunds are handled according to the policies of the App Store or Google Play.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to copy, redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the stories, illustrations, or software; not to share your account in violation of these Terms; and not to use the Service unlawfully or to disrupt its operation.
6. Intellectual property
All stories, illustrations, text, software, and branding in the Service are the proprietary property of StoryCave or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your family's personal, non-commercial reading while your subscription is active. Personalized output remains subject to this licence.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryCave will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms or the Service from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
